Should Evo's gain levels faster?

Yes, They should gain more xp per damage they deal.

So we've all had a couple of weeks to mess around with ACTUALLY leveling our evo's. I hope everyone is enjoying them as much as I am! I love seeing the variety of pets running around instead of a bunch of brown or red dragons!

I know the point of evo's was ultimately to slay the power creep of greater dragons and also provide tamers with some "end game" content to grind for.......but is that grind TOO much??

Leveling from 1-7 seems to be in a good place- and I dont think anything needs to be done there. (Full disclosure: I've only made it to level 7 so far).

However I've heard tales that by the time you reach level 8, you're only ~25% of the way to a max evo. That seems insane!  So.....please take the poll below and lets see if admins think it's anything that needs addressed.

It definitely needs to be adjusted. I play a lot, and I can't see my evo hitting max level in under 2 months at the current rate. level 1 to 7 is fine at the current rate.

Level 6 to 7 was absolutely brutal. It took me from the time the way leveling works changed (from damage taken to damage done) until Thursday this week to hit 7. I play too much as it is. Level 7 has seemed a lot more smooth, my pet feels a lot more powerful, but it is very grindy. I understand that we don't want everyone running around with a level 10 evo the day after they were released, but in my experience, my tameable shadow wyrm is still more powerful than my level 7 evo. From what I have heard talking to the players with higher level evos, the only thing that makes the grind worth it, over using a shadow, are the abilities.

Perhaps their damage and survivability are balanced properly. I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying, using an evo that isn't as strong as a blood steed to start with and having it level so slowly is painful.

Well, I've played only for a few days with the Evo's, didn't really had the chance to test them on the test server, So for me it's something completely new.
My Evo is only at level 4, but it seems to go pretty fine gaining XP and training it (so far).

I forgot to include another option. Leave the xp gain from kills/damage the way it is.....just reduce the amount needed to go from lvl 8-9 and 9-10.

You can't have added xp on kill.. Too easy to people just jump in a farm your kills.

I don’t understand the big deal here. So what if it takes 2 months to go from level 8 to 10. The Evos are highly powerful at level 7. You guys make it sound like you have to have a level 10 or they are worthless. End game should take time.

I honestly agree with Ravenwolfe, Im not planning on going anywhere, it actually brings back a part of uo i sorda miss, ( im guilty of it too) but to actually work for something. Why do you want to be maxd out in a couple of days or 2 weeks for that matter?

It used to be that it took forever to grind 100 taming to begin with, which is what made them worth having, cause not everyone would. Speeding up skill gain had the adverse effect of making taming too easy. Since tamers are stronger than melee it stands to reason it should be hard. So, to balance that back out we've got the evo grind which may not be for everyone.

The Point: You could just go out and get a shadow wyrm and have a great pet. Nothing stopping you. A level 10 evo is an accomplishment and the ability points are absolutely what make them worth it.

I agree.. as you get to know the build you are making. Gold sink to be able to fix a build that doesn't suit your play style.
