It's a brave new world. Today is the day a lot of us have been waiting for for a very long time. As we say goodbye to greater dragons and usher in our new bio-evo pets, we end a chapter in UO Phoenix history that we'll all remember with fondness. Those of you here today will say with nostalgia "I remember when...", and that makes you all a part of an exclusive membership. But we move on now, and have so much to look forward to. Here are our updates for this week.

  • Bio-Engineered evolution pets are finally here! You can read all about them on the wiki post and add your own information as you discover it.
  • Pet dye tubs have been removed globally. Pet rinses, however, are still available....hint hint
  • Pet greater dragons have been removed.
  • Pet leashes have been replaced. The new pet leash will no longer cause your pet to go wild if shrunken too long.
  • Pet leashes now have 200 charges to start. A 500 charge leash has been sent to the first character on each account as a gift.
  • The success chance of peacemaking and provocation has been improved
  • Area peacemaking duration has been extended from 1 second to 2 seconds
  • Players with both magic resist and parry will have a chance to parry spell effects. The player must have 100 magic resist and the success then scales based on parry. This does not apply to players with animal taming above 80.
  • Players with both magic resist and anatomy will have a chance to resist poison effects. The player must have 100 magic resist and the success then scales based on anatomy
  • Players with both magic resist and archery will have a chance to parry spell effects. The player must have 100 magic resist and the success then scales based on archery
  • The drop rate for spell damaging weapons has been increased a little bit more
  • Mages will get a reduction in mana consumption based on their inscription, magery, and eval int skill levels. Must have at least 300 points across these three skills to enjoy this benefit. Scales on inscription skill.

So Archer/Bard, which uses Anatomy+Archery getting double boost.
While a Warrior without Parry getting only 1 boost for Anatomy.

The difference is a warrior with parry is using two hands like an archer is, where as a warrior without parry is only using 1 hand. They're also using that other 100 pts in some skill that the other two aren't, so it's about what choices fit your play style.

I'm using a double-axe with Swords+Lumberjack, it uses the same two hands.

Good point - perhaps we could put in the same perk for lumberjack
